What Exactly is the Nintendo 64 Classic Mini
With the success of the Nintendo NES Classic Mini and the SNES Classic Mini it can only be a matter of time till we see a N64 Classic Mini. We think the N64 Mini will follow suit when it comes to an incredible game line up and small size and authentic look of the original Nintendo 64 hardware. We hope to see 4 controller support to compliment the amazing 4 player games we know and love from the original console.
N64 Mini Release Date – When will it hit the shops
Basing what we know from the NES Classic Mini and SNES Classic Mini that have come before it. We think that we could see the N64 Mini later in the year and certainly in time for the Christmas period. N64 Mini Price – What will it cost you
This one is hard to call but looking at all the sources and knowing the cost of the NES Mini and SNES Mini. We think the N64 Classic Mini could cost any where from £80-£150. With the higher performance needed to run the N64 games and the support for 4 controllers we can almost certainly say it will be more expensive than the NES and the SNES. But we are sure it will be well worth the cost and the wait to get your hands on the classic games you know and love in mini form!
N64 Mini Games – What games will it include
This is where things start to get a little more complicated. We all know there were some great 1st and 3rd party game titles on the Nintendo 64, but as time has passed the rights to those games have been acquired by different companies and could now be harder to licence for use on the N64 Mini. The most notable being GoldenEye which was developed by a company called Rare which Microsoft now own. We HOPE that Nintendo can work out some deals with these companies and we all get the games we’re hoping for but fear a few might be missing.

While we wait (patiently) for the N64 classic did you know some great N64 games are already available to play on the Xbox One? Rare are the game studio responsible for some of the very best N64 games such as Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, Banjo-Kazooie and many more. Rare Replay is a compilation of 30 video games from the 30 year history of developers Rare and its predecessor and is available to buy now.
Nintendo 64 (Original)
The Nintendo 64 (N64) was the third computer game by Nintendo. It was first released in Japan, June 1996 and was intended to go up against the Sony PlayStation and the Sega Saturn. The N64 was Nintendo's first attempt at a console made for 3D illustrations. It utilizes plastic cartridges rather than CDs, making load times quicker. Along these lines, the console cost more to make. The controller for the Nintendo 64 was formed with 3 grip handles and had 10 buttons. Sony laters used the same stick as the N64 to make their DualShock PlayStation controller. The Nintendo 64 had 4 MB of RAM, and it could be moved up to 8 MB with the help of the expansion pak.
